We are hiring an Inventory Accountant at MobilityWorks, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate cost management and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Audits and Inventory Management:
- Conduct physical counts and audits of manufacturing parts/pieces across all retail locations and manufacturing facilities.
- Coordinate monthly cycle counts and process adjustments resulting from cycle count outcomes.
- Conduct inventory audits for all locations and/or M&A due diligence.
Cost Analysis:
- Analyze production costs to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Monitor and report on variances with FIFO and/or standard costing along with aging/obsolescence analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data for cost or inventory accounting analysis.
Month-End Close:
- Prepare month-end closing activities related to cost and inventory accounting.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts related to inventory and reserve accounts.
- Generate financial reports and provide insights into cost and inventory performance for stores and field personnel.
- Assist the Director of Inventory Accounting with special projects and/or Ad-hoc reporting.
- Posting Equipment Only, Home Access, and DME proposals to the general ledger.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve inventory accounting functions and inventory management processes.
- Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in cost-related activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop synergies, streamline workflows, and reduce costs.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience, including internships.
- Proven experience in cost accounting and inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 30% travel, as needed for business development.
- International travel may be required.
